About the event

Dig Deep is excited to participate in our 1st First Friday, May 6th 4 to 9 PM!  Come by and get a sneak preview of what you can see on the VIVA Spring Studio Tour on May 7th & 8th and 14th and 15th, 10 AM to 5 PM.  In addition to some amazing artists, you will be able to find something special for Mom (don’t forget Mothers Day!) from our nursery and shop.  We have a collection of beautiful plants and fun gifts as well as music on Sunday with JD Hobson and our featured drink at the bar in honor of Mom’s, the Mimosa!

JD was our first performer ever at Dig Deep and we are thrilled to have him back to celebrate Mother’s Day.

As part of the Studio Tour, we have the opportunity to share with you some renowned Vashon artists some of whom rarely show their collections.  Join us to stroll through the art, and have a glass of wine, as you decide which amazing piece to take home.  Amongst our collection we have:

  • Pam Ingalls- we are proud to host the debut of her new show Facing People and Their Pets.  Pam with her extreme gift delightfully captures the essence of the bond between pets and their people with many faces you may know across the island with their secret and not-so-secret loves.
  • Eric Nelsen- we have a collection of his work from across his life as a ceramic artist that show his unique vision and firing technique from his handmade kiln.
  • Hans Nelsen- (yes they are brothers and both so talented!) who works in expressing his art in wood and allowing the natural beauty to come through.
  • Shawn Nordfors- who creates striking large wooden sculptures that celebrate the human form.
  • David Blad- of Vashon Tile Company with a collection of beautiful tile work big and small inspired by nature.
  • We also have a collection of signed prints by the local Art Hansen (deceased).  Proceeds from these prints support global health and the work of Bridges to Development.
  • Mary Coss (not from Vashon)- has displayed her large mixed media sculptures next to the Dig Deep stage.

In our gallery shop, we also have other Vashon artists like Chad Widmer and our own Jon Jon Harvey!  We are looking forward to seeing you.  The Octopus Bar will be open and don’t forget the music for Mother’s Day with JD Hobson starting at 2:30!
